Message from the Principal
Distinctive History of Ahmad Ibrahim Primary School
Ahmad Ibrahim Primary School (AIPS) was founded in 1995 and is named after a prominent minister – Mr Ahmad Ibrahim, who made significant contributions to Singapore as Minister for Health (1959) and Minister for Labour (1961).
The school’s distinctive history serves as a powerful reminder to all our pupils and stakeholders of the courage, determination, pride and resilience of our forefathers who dedicated their lives to Singapore in the early days of nation building.
School Mission, Vision and Values
In line with the school vision that all AIPS pupils are resilient, of good character, civic- minded, passionate about developing their own unique potential and talents and are well equipped for the future, AIPS aspires to prepare our pupils for the rapidly changing, globalised world. Character development is of paramount importance as pupils learn to be global citizens for the 21st Century.
Preparing our pupils to excel in the 21st Century
At AIPS, we are ONE Family. Together with our dedicated teachers, support staff, parents, PSG, SAC members and key stakeholders, the school is committed to provide pupils with quality learning experiences and innovative programmes. We aim to instil in our pupils the core values of Integrity and Respect and nurture in them a mindset for Continuous Learning, Innovation and Excellence.
“Every Child a Star”— our aspiration for every child to reach their full potential will require close collaboration with all our stakeholders, particularly our parents, as our valued partners in education.
Let us all take pride in doing our part to position AIPS to be a school of distinction by providing a happy and vibrant learning environment for pupils to excel in the 21st Century.
Warmest regards,
Mdm Sim Siew Tin Principal

Development and Outstanding Development Award (Character Development) 2010
The goal of education is to nurture the whole child, including his/her character. Character development is the teaching of values and social and emotional competencies. It is also about providing opportunities for students to demonstrate behaviour consistent with the values taught.
The Development Award for Character Development recognises schools that have put in place systems and processes for the effective development of students’ character. The Outstanding Development Award for Character Development recognises schools with innovative, sustainable and exemplary approaches to character development.

We are the only Primary School presented with the Outstanding Development Award for Character Development for 2010
Programme for School-Based Excellence for Primary Schools
The Programme for School-Based Excellence scheme helps to develop strong primary schools with distinctive characters. This creates more opportunities for our students to develop different areas of excellence.
Students will have a wider range of options when choosing primary schools because schools will be distinguished according to specific areas of excellence. Students with particular strengths or interests will therefore be able to make more informed choices about their own education together with their parents. The school will also benefit from developing a strong identity and school culture so that students can build a sense of camaraderie and affinity with the school.
We are awarded the School-Based Excellence status for Character and Citizenship Education for 2011.
